Raiders vs Chiefs

Ok, so the Raiders stumbled got crushed in week one against the hated Denver Broncos.  We committed endless unacceptable penalties. DeAngelo Hall might be the worst Oakland signing since Al Davis overpaid Larry Brown to leave the Dallas Cowboys. But, Hey...It's week one.

The defense was abysmal.  Rob Ryan needs to find a way to pressure the QB.

The offense is who we thought they were.  A running team. Let's pound it. The Chiefs can't stop us. On Monday we'll all feel a little bit better.

Dig deep Raider Nation. We won in Kansas City last year...And we will on Sunday.

Sports Picks and Predictions

The first Blog (Hey Mom, Look at me now!)

With the recent passing of the Super Bowl it occurred to me, why do I care who most of these talking heads on television think will win the Big game? I didn't like many of them as NFL players so why do the networks think I want to know their "prediction" on the game.

Many shouldn't be on the pre or post-game shows because they aren't broadcasters. All of the networks are culpable. They certainly don't have the skills required to be a communicator to the masses. There are some players that have made a good transition to this world but most just don't have the skills. For every Steve Young there are twelve Emmitt Smith's (possibly a Baker's Dozen!) A large contingency of these "analysts" feel some loyalty to their former teams and don't give or simply just don't have an honest opinion.

I realize this boosts their networks ratings, I'm just not sure how. Gambling is obviously huge is sports, but I simply can't believe that anyone is waiting on any of their predictions before making a call to a bookie.
