Oakland Raiders

We got the big win last week against the Philadelphia Eagles.  Now it's time to put together an actual winning streak. Imagine that. . .

Oakland fans have suffered for far too long. I am one of the many who has.  As big of a win that was against Philly, for me it was huge since I reside in a suburb of Philadelphia and hear their talk resounding across the radiowaves nonstop.

This one was special to me so I could hear all the talk excuses for the Eagles loss.  Oakland Raiders win period. Jamarcuss Russell led a team possessed; especially the defense. What can I say there. A complete game.

Gotta leave it there but so many thoughts on the win.

Look Out Lane Kiffin

To me it appears next Sunday is Lane's last day as the Oakland Raiders head coach.  If Oakland does somehow go into the the bye week with consecutive losses against the Buffalo Bills and the San Diego Chargers I believe Al Davis will fire the young coach. BAD MOVE. In my opinion.

The team played well in Buffalo. Not well enough, though.  The prevent defense did just that...Again.

I'd prefer to look at the positives.  I believe th team can get better under Kiifin. I don't ( Does Anyone? ) want to try Again with another offense?  Knapp has to stay.  New offensive blocking for the O-Line  will retard the progress done by many.

I hurt.

Sports Picks and Predictions

The first Blog (Hey Mom, Look at me now!)

With the recent passing of the Super Bowl it occurred to me, why do I care who most of these talking heads on television think will win the Big game? I didn't like many of them as NFL players so why do the networks think I want to know their "prediction" on the game.

Many shouldn't be on the pre or post-game shows because they aren't broadcasters. All of the networks are culpable. They certainly don't have the skills required to be a communicator to the masses. There are some players that have made a good transition to this world but most just don't have the skills. For every Steve Young there are twelve Emmitt Smith's (possibly a Baker's Dozen!) A large contingency of these "analysts" feel some loyalty to their former teams and don't give or simply just don't have an honest opinion.

I realize this boosts their networks ratings, I'm just not sure how. Gambling is obviously huge is sports, but I simply can't believe that anyone is waiting on any of their predictions before making a call to a bookie.
