Oakland Raiders

We got the big win last week against the Philadelphia Eagles.  Now it's time to put together an actual winning streak. Imagine that. . .

Oakland fans have suffered for far too long. I am one of the many who has.  As big of a win that was against Philly, for me it was huge since I reside in a suburb of Philadelphia and hear their talk resounding across the radiowaves nonstop.

This one was special to me so I could hear all the talk excuses for the Eagles loss.  Oakland Raiders win period. Jamarcuss Russell led a team possessed; especially the defense. What can I say there. A complete game.

Gotta leave it there but so many thoughts on the win.

World Series: Destiny Philadelphia?

The city is behind them - The Fight'n Phil's.  A parade is on the horizon. One that has been sorely lacking in this city of ours - The city of Brotherly Shove Love.  The Philadelphia Phillies are in the World Series...shall I say it again?  The Philadelphia are in the World Series!

As I try to stay positive, I can already hear the pundits, though I choose not to at this time.

Let's enjoy the next days as we do not know, or do we care to think of when they may come our way again.

Philly Fever...Catch it.

Hockey: The Sport Of The Underdog

Hockey...I love it. I live and die with each win and loss. My team is the Detroit Red Wings and has been since I started playing Sega around '90. Yzerman Rocked.

I grew up in southern NJ, suburb of Philadelphia. I attending many games of the Flyboys. Nothing better. My parent used to take my friends and I to "the Coliseum" in Voorhees where the Flyers actually practiced. We would spend our (parent's) money logging ice time in the open skate sessions all the time. Getting our skates sharpened at "Skater's Edge," a tiny little pro shop that you had to walk up a seemingly endless flight of stairs to get to. The foundation for what is to come is built in our youth.

I watch hockey. Not just the Wings. Hockey.

The NHL wants to expand their culture. Fine. Ratings say no one watches. Fine with me. I love it and know people that feel the same way. The majority of people think of hockey as a fringe sport. Fine by me. That doesn't affect my pleasure, in fact knowing what others choose to ignore gives me satisfaction. They are the ones missing out.

Go ahead, put a game on...I'll watch with you.
